Matcha is made in the Japanese tea ceremony and Rebecca reveals some tips and instructions on how to make a great bowl of matcha.
I found a powdered green tea at my local market (I believe its baked) and was wondering if there’s a significant difference between the two. Matcha is pretty pricey so a cheaper substitute would be awesome…
I can’t find any matcha in my town. I would imagine I could buy it in San Francisco, but I don’t go there often. I don’t want to buy a huge quantity online, either. Sencha is readily available, but would it taste like matcha if I grind it in my coffee maker? I was wondering if anyone has tried this before I go and spend my money experimenting with green tea leaves.
Is there anywhere in California that will ship within the state?
The ones that are sweeter also seem slightly creamier/more well blended in the water than the other Matcha’s that seem like simply green tea leaves ground down.
Any experts on matcha out there care to help me out on this?
